The brief
A campus of this scale collects an enormous volume of rainwater in a Gujarat monsoon. The drainage had to carry that water off the roads and open plazas quickly, sit flush with finished surfaces, and stay maintenance-free long after the contractors had left — all without slowing a tight construction programme.
Why precast
Pouring drains in place would have meant formwork, curing time and an open trench across active routes for days. Precast U-drains change the maths: each unit is cast, cured and tested in our Surat yard, then delivered to the trench ready to set. The line is sealed and trafficable almost as fast as it can be laid.
Cast once, in a controlled yard. What reaches site is finished work — not a job still waiting to be poured.
Our approach
We supplied U-Shape Drains in M50 concrete, cast to the sections the site needed and finished to a smooth bore that keeps water moving and silt from settling. Units arrived in sequence with the civil works, so the drainage kept pace with the roads rather than holding them up.
The outcome
A continuous, sealed drainage line that disappears into the finished campus and asks for nothing once it is in. The same factory standard that holds up on a national highway now keeps one of Surat's signature addresses dry through the rains.
